Congregation Highlight: Adventure Christian Church of North Natomas

In 2003 just under a tent in North Natomas Adventure Christian Church was formed. The church has been leading people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, simply because every heart matters. With our mission in mind, Adventure Church was pleased to open its doors to Family Promise of Sacramento in 2019. Our volunteers are dedicated to serving and providing families a "home and food” for a week. A family of 5 would come in after Dad got off of work between 10 pm-11pm and our night volunteers were always there to help them out of the car, holding the door as one sleepy head after another was carried in. Plates of food were warmed for whoever was awake and hungry. For that week, we were committed to the same goal. The fellowship time consisted of movies, crafts and a makeshift piñata, though there were challenges, there were also so many more successes. The greatest gift we gave each other during that week was space for grace.

This past year and a half has been a really tough time for everyone and now more than ever it is clear that we are connected. Praying for a great service week this coming October and for the families that will find themselves as guests in our church.
